Epilogue

The years passed slowly for Minerva. There were times following Lily’s death that she wanted to quit Hogwarts and run away again, but the thought of Harry attending Hogwarts, and her passion for Gryffindor Quidditch, sustained her, despite the near invincibility of the Slytherin team.

After ten long years, she had the privilege of sending out an acceptance letter to Harry. It was one of the happiest days of her decade.

One day while cleaning up for the coming year, she rummaged through her personal items and came across her old bow and quiver. She looked at the bow for a long time, remembering how much she initially resented having to use it.

“I complained you were old and obsolete,” Minerva said aloud. “Sometimes I think I am too, my friend.”

She laughed a bit. “Callista said you were a good teaching tool and she was right. Maybe that’s why I’m here too. Maybe there’s another girl out there who has the Gift and my destiny is to help her achieve her potential.”

The next day Dumbledore sent Minerva out to meet new student, a Muggle-born girl, and introduce her to the wizard world. Though Minerva was reluctant, she agreed to do so.

That day she met, for the first time, Hermione Granger - the greatest of the Priestesses of the Raven. But her story is not told here. It is can be found in that most famous of tomes, The Mists of Hogwarts.
